How to get educated and make money without going to college

professional journey

A college education just isn’t for everyone. You might already know that it’s not for you, or maybe you’re sitting in your dorm room reading this and feeling that familiar squirm in your gut…either way, rest assured that there are other ways to have the career you want, without suffering through college. There are so many resources online, even on Facebook that can help you find your career or your true calling. It may seem impossible in this world where every man and his dog seem to have a college degree, but let me tell you, it is possible, if you are clever, determined, and hard-working. Here are a couple of important things to remember along the way.

Find your passion

What do you love? What do you enjoy? Once you find what you truly love to do, you will be able to find ways of making money doing it. You may need to be resourceful, for example: if you enjoy thrill-seeking and fast-paced action sports, you might be the kind of person who would enjoy Forex trading. The Forex world is incredibly quick, with the difference between two seconds potentially meaning the difference between ten thousand dollars and nothing. (For more information about Forex and currency trading visit www.knowledgetoaction.com.au) Find what you love, and you’ll love making money doing it.

Be brave

Starting a career, with not even a college degree to put on your resume, is hugely daunting. You need to take a deep breath and take the plunge. Email every big player in the field you are looking to break into, asking for an internship, apprenticeship, or even just some advice on getting into the industry. You never know what kind of a response you will receive. On top of being brave, you need to be clever. Attend seminars, research your field and expand your knowledge so that you know all there is to know, and you’re ready for any opportunities that come your way.

Set goals

Without the structure and deadlines of college you might feel a little lost. With realistic short- and long-term goals in place you will feel much more in control of your life, and a whole lot closer to your dream career. Make sure your goals are achievable and specific, and put a plan in place to ensure that you will be able to achieve them by a certain time. If you do this properly, you’ll find that you are more organised and more driven than most college graduates are!

Don’t be intimidated by the fact that choosing not to go to college is relatively unusual in this day and age. If you are smart and willing to put in the hard yards, you will find that you will be rewarded with the career and the income that you want. Remember that the internet is a literally endless resource for education and opportunities, and also remember that those who work the hardest, funnily enough, are also the luckiest. And on that note…good luck!
