Uber drivers have been frustrated for a while by some of the limitations in the app that made their lives and working conditions more difficult. Many also hate the price cuts that have eaten into their compensation.

Uber has now announced some updates to its app for the benefit of drivers, like updating the “Destinations” feature that enables drivers to pick up and drop off riders along a specific route. With this drivers can stay on their general route and pick up fares that don’t take them in other directions and areas. This feature is also interesting:

Uber is also offering more ways for drivers to better manage their finances. The company will be offering its branded debit cards (in partnership with GoBank) to drivers in more cities, which allow them to receive their earnings instantaneously.

These seem like good developments in a climate where Uber is battling other companies for workers in the gig economy.
